We came at an extremely busy time and didn't make reservations, which I understand is silly on our part, but they only leave 5 out of 100+ that are first come first serve, so we could only stay at one site for one night and then had to move to a different spot just so we could stay the weekend, which made it a little difficult. But being young adults, it felt like we were in a 55+ community. You can always check for last minute cancellations. Sites fill up quickly so you might end up booking up to a year in advance. So going in knowing that it is one of the oldest parks, the outdated bathroom houses were of no surprise, but they were always extremely clean so it was never an issue. ![]() A primitive campsite is available via foot trail.I thought this park was absolutely stunning, it is one of Florida's oldest state parks so it is well developed compared to other state run facilities. The park offers full-facility camping too, as well as a youth/group tent campground. ![]() The Wetlands Restoration Trail accommodates bicyclists as well as and hikers.įeeling the Florida heat? Just as well that Hillsborough River State Park also has a swimming pool! When the weather calls for it, you can swim until you're heart's content! Hikers get those boots ready, because you can walk over seven miles along four nature trails that will take you through the beautiful landscapes of the park.
